At this moment, Art Klatch is the brainchild of seven Virginians: Leah Cupino, Kate Daughdrill, Jenny Garnett, Carissa Henriques, Lauren Maupin, Stephanie DeSocio and Kathryn Wagner.
Leah Cupino [1.] transplants frequently; her current roots reach into the Charlottesville, VA area [2.] enjoys the thought of teaching art again one day [3.] loves culinary and power tools [4.] would rather spur a solution than dwell on a problem [5.] has some good feelings about her newest result—the Art Klatch [6.] and after heavy studio work at Walla Walla University, The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and Virginia Commonwealth University, now perspires privately as a painter in her own garage.
Kate Daughdrill is an artist, curator, and arts administrator here in Charlottesville. She studied Printmaking and Political & Social Thought at the University of Virginia. Kate is currently working as an artist, curating the downtown art space The Garage, and working as the Communications Director at Piedmont Council of the Arts. Carissa Henriques is a graphic designer, artist, and design researcher in Charlottesville, VA. Carissa’s interests include collaboration, community-based projects, co-design, and the intersection of design and issues of poverty and justice. Carissa is finishing her MFA at Virginia Commonwealth University in Visual Communication + Design.
Lauren Maupin currently lives in Charlottesville. She holds a BA in the History of Art and has lived and worked in both New York and London.
